Digital Certificate Service from SECOM Trust Systems

While the Internet has become a convenient tool of communication for people all over the world, cyber attacks on valuable information assets are becoming increasingly complex and sophisticated.
Since ensuring the security of such information is essential to society, SECOM Trust Systems offers an digital certificate service that allows the right people to access the right information.

Digital certificate is a technology that prevents identity theft and falsification of information by using an "digital certificate" issued by an electronic certification authority. In 2004, SECOM Trust Systems became the first company in Japan to obtain WebTrust Certification (*1), an international standard, and established the SECOM Certification Authority, which issues trusted digital certificates.
As the only Japanese company that participates in the CA/Browser Forum and operates a public root certification authority (*2) at its own data center in Japan, we are providing a wide range of digital certificates that boast a high level of security and high reliability certified under the Electronic Signatures Law.

*1 WebTrust Certification: An international standard established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants for internal control over the reliability of certification authorities and the safety of electronic commerce, and a certification system for that standard.

*2 Public Root Certification Authority: A certification authority that has received WebTrust certification. Certificates of the certification authority are stored in products of Microsoft Corporation and major browser manufacturers as issued by "Trusted Root Certification Authorities", and reliability of the certificates can be confirmed globally.
